Scheduled Maintenance Resolved
Priority - Critical Affecting Other - Network maintenance/upgrade scheduled outage

We are performing critial network maintenance on Sunday, Jan 24, 2016 from 1am.

As we need to replace and relocate equipment, there will be a complete network outage during the maintenance. All services will be offline. We expect to start to resume services from approximately 2:30am, although please keep in mind this is our best estimate.

While you won't be able to acces your inbox during the maintenance period, no incoming mail during the period will be lost, it will just be delayed until the network is back online.

Our own website will also be offline, as will our email and ticket/phone system. We will redirect to a notice page, and leave a message on the phone regarding the maintenance. We will update those channels should it become necessary to adjust time estimates.

Servces were resumed from 4am onwards.

We thank you for your patience during this necessary maintenance period. Once it is completed it will deliver much faster network speeds for all services.

Upgrades to SSD Resolved
Priority - Medium Affecting Server - SY-CLD04

We will be performing major upgrades overnight by copying all hosting services over to our new SSD Hard Drive arrays.

In order to avoid any data loss or corruptions, we will need to disable certain services during the period the copy is being made. Accordingly, from approximately 10pm-6am whilst the maintenance is ongoing, the following restrictions will be in place:

- FTP and Email relaying/sending will be unavailable.
- Email deliveries will be delayed during the overnight period and delivered during the day.

After the copy has been completed, there will be a short network outage as IPs are re-routed, and Mysql will be offline for a period as a final sync takes place.

During the scheduled maintenance period, please refrain from performing any site maintenance/changes to avoid any clashes with the copy process.

Once the process has completed, all services will resume as normal, and we hope you will all enjoy the benefits of full SSD access.

The maintenace has completed and web services have all returned to normal. We are still waiting on the cpanel license transfer to complete, once that has updated cPanel will also be available.

The cPanel license has finally updated and that service is also operating normally again.

Thank you for your continuing support.

PHP - upgrade to 5.3 Resolved
Priority - High Affecting Other - All Shared and Reseller Servers

On Sunday August 26 from 10pm we will be upgrading all of our shared servers PHP to 5.3.

To prepare, we advise all client to check any PHP programs incorporated into their websites, and ensure they are running the latest versions, which are already coded to perform with version 5.3. This will not only minimise any compatibility issues with the older PHP version, but it also an important security step to take.

We also advise renaming any php.ini files, as in many cases directives inside will be deprecated and no longer required. Most php installations should run normally with the default settings, without the need for a specialised php.ini for the application.

The upgrade has been completed - all servers are now running PHP 5.3.16

If, following the upgrade, you have issues, please check the following -

1. you have no files named "php.ini" in your public_html folder or sub-folders (rename the file and retest)

2. check the version of your application and upgrade if necessary. If upgrading is not preferred, check the program's website, in many cases of popular software a patch should also be available for your preferred version.

If your application still has issues, it can be moved to a legacy server.

Any site currently using Frontpage can be moved to a legacy platform if required.
